RE: Pushing and shoving going on in the NW garage at Lowes

I love Harvick and do not agree Edwards is the better of the two drivers. Edwards picked on the wrong guy to "get in his face." Harvick will not be able to buy his own beer for a month as Edwards is one of the least liked drivers in the garage. His own teammates do not like him and that was before Sundays wreck.

RE: NASCAR even controls who wins!!!!

The rules state that "you can go below the yellow line BUT "cannot" advance your position." The right call was made. Congrats to Tony and his many fans. I am not really one of them but nice to see him back in the winners circle. Liriope

RE: Helio Castroneves indicted

Unaware he was not paying his taxes,,,pleeeeease!! Lets quit making excuses for cheats. Believe me, the IRS sent him several letter "Before" indicting him. You do not indict a famous person like him without first warning him and also having a strong case. As far as tough times as someone mentioned. he makes millions each year. That is real tough.

RE: Horse barred from Pub

I did some reserach on the weather in Ireland and Scotland last night to make sure I was not losing my mind. I am not. Here are the results of my research per the weather on Yahoo: Average temp in June for Tuam Ireland high 63 low 47 July high 65 low 50 Average temp in June for Inverness Scotland 61 and 46 July 64 and 49 I used these area because they are very popular but checked other areas and no where did I find it varied more than + or - 1 to 2 degree high or low from these numbers. Now throw in a 30 mile an hour wind on a rainy damp day (remember, there is a light mist almost every day in Ireland) now it is 7 pm, weather probably 50 degree's and most people would consider this cold. I could not find "ANY" place in Ireland or Scotland that had June temp in the 70's or July in the 80's. Because I have called these temp cold (at times) I have been called "ridiculous" by a former native. These average temps are not my mine, they are the facts per the national and world weather service.

RE: Horse barred from Pub

Martyn---FORGIVE ME!!!! Did not mean to upset the British AND I really do not want to fight the Amercan Revolution agggain. I never said there were no cats in homes or pubs. What I said was "I NEVER SAW ANY CATS IN HOMES ARE PUBS." Big difference. I never professed to be an expert on that area and the way it sounds, yes you probably have frequented more pubs than me. Congratulations. Please note I spoke only of Ireland and Scotland. You probably have never been to either since they are not to fond of the British there. Now I know why. However, your contention that it is not cold "in Ireland & Scotland" during June on the coast is pure bunk!! Go to the north coast of Ireland or Scotland in June and "you will need a coat." Yes I understand tere is a "high" of somewhere between 50 and 70 degree in the interior but many coastal areas are cold with the wind coming off the ocean where the ocean temperature is arond 50 degree or less. Now throw in a 30 mile an hour wind and it is very cold. For the record, most everyone in that area wore coats or heavy sweaters so please "do not" lecture me about what I saw and felt.

RE: Neil Diamond at Hollywood Bowl. Amazing!

I love Neil Diamond and have over 20 of his songs on my ipod. I bought a 3 disk cd collection of his. His songs recorded years ago are outstanding, however, some recorded at some of his later concerts, frankly, are inferior quality. He is still great but has "lost a step." He resently gave back receipt from a concert because "he said" the public did not get what they should have expected. I hope it was only a bad day. He is in my top 10 all time favorite singers.

RE: Horse barred from Pub

Martyn--sounds like I unintentionally offended a cat lover, if so, sorry? Now let me explain. England Scotland and Ireland temputatures are VERY cold to the human body because it is a damp cold. Yes, I know pure degree wise it is not that cold but again, damp cold. In addition, everywhere is close to the ocean with its winds. For example, no place in Ireland is more than 70 miles from the ocean. It is d_mn cold there even in June especially if you are close to the ocean. My wife is cold natured and stayed cold most of the time. Martyn, I am aware few ciries have barns, hello. We have spent app 60 nights in Scotland/Ireland on all our comined trips. Every night was spent in a "FARM HOUSE Bed & Breakfast", most all working farms and yes most all if not all had had barns. Most all had WORKING DOGS and most all were inside often. Not once did I see a cat inside any of the farm houses. I also had many oppurtunities to frequent many bar while there. NOT ONCE did I see a cat in a bar but OFTEN I saw dogs. We stayed away from the cities and this was Scotland and Ireland not England. Hopefully this will satisfy what clearly was a "challenge" from you. For the record, I like cats but if I did not see them, I did not see them.

RE: Neil Diamond at Hollywood Bowl. Amazing!

I love Neil Diamond's music and his records, one of the best ever. Having said that, lately, he has been losing his voice and some of his concerts have been awful. I expect him soon in Branson MO, the place all old singers go when they lose their voice. He will be right at home with other has beens who no longer have a voice, Glen Cambell, Andy Williams, Mel Tillis and you can also expect one of the all time greats, Willie Nelson there soon.

RE: Jayco G2

By new, Why? There are some great buys on Ebay on used Jayco TT. Some of the prices they are selling for compared to new is unbelievable. My policy, never by a new boat or TT because many people buy new AND only use them a few times. Let them take the initial huge depreciation. For the record, I believe, "for the money", there is no better value than a Jayco TT.

RE: awning coverage on insurance

ps--I always just added it in my quote on any policy I wrote. Many people have a hard time understanding why it is under contents. I have no great answer except "IT IS". Better just to add to quote and then everyone happy and that my friend, if you are an agent, is what you want. Liriope

RE: awning coverage on insurance

I am a retired property and casualty agent from a "Major" insurance company. The awning is not covered under a normal policy and requires a separate endorsement,. It is covered under the "contents" endorsement. The truth of the matter, many agent write very few TT policies and are clueless about this coverage. If you do not have this in-expense coverage, your awning IS NOT covered "unless" the insurance company felt like the agent was negligent and covers it anyway. Good luck. Liriope

RE: Horse barred from Pub

The English and Scott's do love their dogs. One reason, the dogs do a lot more work for them than their kids do. One of the reason they let the dogs inside, it is so darn cold, wet cold, there. I have been to Ireland 5 times, Scotland once and it was very common to see dog in pubs. We always stayed at Farm house bed & breakfast places and almost all of them had their dog inside. Most of the time, the dog was sleeping next to the fireplace. One owner told us her husband Jock was ill for several weeks, and his dog would not leave his side until he was well again. When you saw Jock outside OR inside, you knew his dog was nearby. They do love their dogs. I never saw a cat inside, maybe they were in the barn.

RE: AARP

Skid is correct EXCEPT for one thing, their discounts on hotels. They are real and you cannot get them at the hotels I have stayed at without showing your card. I am a member because I saved enough on hotels in one year to pay for a 5 year membership. Other than hotels, you can beat everything they offer if you shop around and I mean everything "including" their auto, home life and other insurance.

RE: A Failed Economy

Reading many of the replies, I was just wondering what school all of you got your Economist Doctorate Degree from? If each of you will list these along with your remarks about how to solve this problem, it will help us feel better about your knowledge of the subject. In addition, maybe some of you can point out the mistakes Warren Buffet made in his remarks to Congress since he strongly urged passing of this bill. He probably would appreciate the advise many of you seem sure will solve this problem. After all, he is just a novice on the subject.

RE: Cost of Cancer

They are required to offer you COBRA for 18 months. However, they can charge you what they actually pay for your insurance PLUS up to 5 % for handling. The cost of COBRA always surprises everyone because most companies subsidize part of the cost to employees. When my wife quit her job, COBRA cost was $1325 a month for only her and me. You will probably be better off on your husbands policy because his employer is "probably" subsidizing his insurance. However, many policies will have a pre-existing condition if you are added mid term instead of the starting period each year. Be aware and check. Good luck. Liriope

RE: Camping World RV 400

JIMNLIN--could not agree more. Tony is a great talent but now a loose cannon. He has been reading to many of his own press clipping. A shame, could possibly be the best talent in Nascar if it was not for his "head".

I never was a Jim Reeves fan. However, my mother had ever song he recorded and listened to him and Loretta Lynn all day long. She wore out a new stereo I bought her. Fond memories.
